150th Anniversary Campaign – Serving God’s Family Together
Church Capital Campaign to Repair, Improve, & Beautify Their Worship Space
Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church was designed to be a beautiful and reverent church. And it is. This parish has a wonderful and solid building that has served them well over the years and been very well maintained. Yet, as with any aging building, and a building that hasn’t undergone any major remodeling and repairs in almost 30 years, it was time to update their church in a way that glorified God, met their current needs, and honored their heritage – in time for their 150th Anniversary!
Repairing and updating their church would prevent larger issues and greater damage. Their campaign plans included repairing, updating, and painting their sanctuary and nave. An ornate new reredos (hand-carved, ornate back altar), a new sound system, and new lighting would be installed. Air conditioning would also be added in their lower-level meeting and event space.
Making these updates also provided Assumption Parish with the opportunity to consider a new design to further enhance their building’s architectural beauty. The wall and ceiling theme would accentuate the symbolism of heaven and earth within the church, and call to mind Our Lady of Guadalupe, for whom their community has a special love.
Their sacred space’s beauty is of the greatest importance because it teaches them to see the invisible reality. To see that during the Holy Mass heaven comes down to earth and, for a moment, we are suspended in eternity, simultaneously present at the foot of the Cross and the Eternal Wedding Feast of the Lamb in Heaven.
Their rich Catholic heritage shows them the value of having a sacred space that speaks this truth to people, not with words but with beauty, the language of the heart.
