Campaign Purpose

The Catholic Church of the Nativity faith community needed a permanent worship, education, and gathering space. Since their founding, a leased building had functioned as the spiritual and educational center of the parish community. While it had served their needs, they needed a more permanent home, a place worthy of being called the House of God. Their faith family was also steadily increasing, and they were rapidly running out of space at their current location. They had rented additional space from a neighboring school to conduct Faith Formation meetings. But, worship services were crowded, faith formation classes were filled to overflowing, and social gatherings were limited due to the lack of adequate space.

The parish’s lack of space would only increase over the coming years. Demographic projections showed that the population of Spring Hill and the surrounding vicinity would keep increasing. The Church of the Nativity was adding new families every year, with a majority of members consisting of young families with school aged children.

To address their needs, twenty-five acres of land was purchased to establish a permanent location for the church and provide for future growth. The church’s initial plan was to build a multi-purpose facility of approximately 26,000 square feet on this property. This would enable the parish to offer traditional elements of a full service Catholic community, a place to worship, socialize, and educate people in the faith.

The community of the Church of the Nativity generously supported their Building on the Promised Land capital campaign. Under the direction of Walsh & Associates, they raised almost six times annual giving!
