All Saints Catholic Church
In the earlier years, members of All Saints parish celebrated Lenten Masses in people’s homes. As their membership grew, they began worshiping at River Hills Community Church to better accommodate the needs of their rapidly growing church family. When Fr. Ed McDevitt became Pastor a Building Committee was established. They ultimately proposed a master plan of multiple phases to build a multi-use space, a worship space, and a Parish Life Center.
All Saints purchased 8.5 acres of property in York County which afforded a great deal of space on which to plan for future growth and they commenced with the first phase of their master plan. All Saints Catholic Church was built and dedicated by Bishop Robert J. Baker. It was through prayer and the sacrifice of their 160 families at that time that the parish was able to raise the necessary funds to build their multi-purpose facility.
While the original master plan called for the construction of a permanent worship space next, a parish-wide survey told otherwise. The community’s growing membership would be better served by focusing on the most pressing and urgent needs. These included providing dedicated multi-use space, additional meeting and classroom space, additional offices, and more storage.
With direction from Walsh & Associates, a capital campaign effort was formed. It called for the construction of a new Parish Life Center. This facility would include dedicated multi-use space, additional classroom and meeting space, administrative offices and additional storage space. The generous community of All Saint’s raised almost three times annual giving in their Saints Alive capital campaign in support of their plans.
“Having been through the first campaign to build the first building, this was less work for more people. Very organized! Very easy to navigate through a daunting task.”
