Campaign Purpose

For more than 45 years, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church has been a vibrant faith community serving Lexington through worship, education, and outreach. Following a comprehensive Feasibility & Planning Study with Walsh & Associates, parish leadership launched the Building to Share Capital Campaign to eliminate school construction debt, build a new school gymnasium, and enhance their worship space with traditional pews and kneelers.

Debt

A primary focus of the campaign was reducing the remaining debt from the construction of Seton Catholic School. Addressing this obligation was critical to improving long-term financial health, easing annual operating pressures, and allowing parish resources to be directed toward ministry, maintenance, and future growth rather than ongoing interest costs. Thanks to the generosity of parish members, the parish expects to pay off their entire debt within months of the end of their campaign’s active phase!

Building

The campaign also advanced plans to construct a dedicated, multi-purpose school gymnasium which was part of the parish’s original campus vision. This new space will support physical education, athletics, performing arts, parish events, and community gatherings, while freeing existing facilities to better serve both church and school needs.

Renovation

Within the church, the campaign called for updating the church’s seating. This improvement is an effort to enhance reverence and unity in worship. New seating will create a more permanent, dignified, and accessible sacred space to reflect Catholic liturgical tradition and support fuller participation by the faithful.

Campaign Success

The Building to Share Capital Campaign inspired extraordinary generosity. Parishioners demonstrated strong confidence in the parish vision and leadership. Guided by Walsh & Associates, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish united around a shared commitment to stewardship and exceeded their Challenge Goal of $2.5 million. And they still see strong inspiration to reach toward their Ultimate Goal to achieve all their plans and position the parish and school for a stronger, more sustainable future.
