Holy Family Catholic Church
Campaign Purpose
Holy Family Catholic Church and School has long been a vibrant faith community in Portland. Recognizing both immediate needs and future opportunities, parish leadership brought in Walsh to help them launch a capital campaign to strengthen facilities, improve accessibility, and better support the spiritual and educational life of the parish.
Building
A central component of the campaign was to construct a new, more visible and welcoming Parish Office & Welcome Center. This would provide much needed, consolidated, and accessible staff offices, meeting rooms, and gathering areas, all conveniently located near the church. The campaign also advanced plans for building a multi-use gym, youth center, and expanded food pantry, and potentially building a new parish hall.
Renovation & Expansion
Plans also included important current parish hall renovations and school improvements to better serve active ministries, and adding a chapel connected to the church for daily Mass, Eucharistic adoration, and smaller liturgical gatherings.
Maintenance
Addressing critical infrastructure needs was a key priority. The school needed a new HVAC system to improve comfort, efficiency, and long-term cost savings. The campaign plans also positioned the parish to address deferred maintenance concerns and improve accessibility through potential ADA-compliant upgrades, especially adding an elevator.
Campaign Success
Holy Family’s campaign inspired an extraordinary response from the parish community. With remarkable generosity and shared commitment to the vision, parishioners exceeded the Challenge Goal, raising an impressive 5.41 times their annual giving. This phenomenal result reflected not only strong confidence in parish leadership, but also a deep spirit of stewardship and unity. The overwhelming support of the community has positioned Holy Family Church and School to move forward with its plans and to build an even stronger foundation for ministry and growth in the years ahead.
