Campaign Purpose
It is often said that one of the most important parts of the Catholic Church is the parish. Why? Because the Parish influences people’s lives. It is in the parish setting where we receive the Body and Blood of Christ. It is where we listen to the word of God proclaimed and find forgiveness of our sins in Reconciliation. It is also where we seek communal support and live our faith. St. John’s parish is a living, breathing entity because God interacts with His people there.
Embarking on their Sharing Our Faith, Securing Our Future capital campaign, St. John’s community responded by raising 3.6 times their annual giving to improve and expand their facilities!
The campaign funds have been used to build a new 20,000 square foot Parish Activity Center. The new building includes meeting rooms, a small kitchen, preschool classrooms, a new library and space for bridal parties. The second floor will offer more meeting space and bathrooms, while the third floor will serve as storage space.
The new Parish Activity Center was dedicated and blessed by Bishop Siegel who echoed Father Chris’s gratitude to all who made the building a reality through their commitment, generosity and prayers. During his blessing, the Bishop asked God with praise and thanksgiving to bless the new space and all who will use it and that they know the presence of Christ, experience the joy of his friendship and grow in his love.
