St. Mary Mother of God Parish
Campaign Purpose
Established in 2020, Mary, Mother of God Parish quickly became a vibrant Catholic community dedicated to worship, faith formation, service, and evangelization. As the parish grew in its mission of being “On Fire with Jesus Christ and Igniting the World,” parish leaders partnered with Walsh & Associates to conduct a Feasibility & Planning Study and then launch their Our Future Full of Hope capital campaign. Their plans were to strengthen the parish’s financial foundation, improve key facilities, and position the parish for continued ministry and growth for years to come.
Debt Elimination
One of the Parish’s most significant opportunities was the chance to eliminate their debt through a unique Jubilee Year initiative offered by the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The Diocese pledged a dollar-for-dollar match toward the parish’s outstanding debt, creating a clear path to becoming debt free. Eliminating their financial burden would free Parish resources for ministry expansion, faith formation, staffing, outreach, facility maintenance, and future parish needs, allowing them to focus more fully on its mission rather than debt obligations.
Renovation & Maintenance
Through the feasibility study, members were able signify the importance for improvements to their St. Patrick Church Hall and the Faith Formation Center. Campaign plans included renovating the hall, kitchen, and restrooms to be more welcoming, functional, and accessible. Faith Formation Center renovation plans would improve meeting and classroom spaces for students, parish organizations, and ministry groups.
In addition to debt elimination and facility improvements, parish leaders recognized the importance of rebuilding savings that had been used for recent accessibility and campus improvement projects. Campaign plans included replenishing parish reserves to ensure long-term financial stability and preparedness for future maintenance needs, emergencies, and ministry opportunities. Strengthening these reserves would help safeguard the parish’s future while allowing offertory resources to remain focused on mission and ministry.
Campaign Success
As a relatively new parish, Mary, Mother of God faced the challenge of building long-term stability while continuing to grow its ministries and outreach. The parish embraced that challenge with faith, vision, and extraordinary generosity, as parishioners rallied behind the campaign and exceeded its fundraising goal. It was a privilege for Walsh & Associates to assist a community so committed to strengthening its ability to evangelize, serve, and share Christ with others, while creating a strong foundation for the future of the parish.
