Campaign Purpose

For generations, St. Mary Parish has stood at the heart of Vermilion, Ohio as a place of worship, fellowship, and faith. Guided by Walsh & Associates and with broad parish input through a Feasibility & Planning Study, St. Mary’s launched their Honoring Our Past, Securing Our Future capital campaign to address pressing needs while elevating the church’s beauty and accessibility.

Maintenance & Accessibility

The Parish steeple is a cherished symbol in the community and campaign plans include repairs to the landmark. Below it, new landscaping and lighting was planned to create a more welcoming and accessible entrance.

Accessibility was a significant need identified in the study, and a new exterior ramp to automatic doors and an enlarged vestibule to significant improve access. Within the sanctuary other accommodation plans included ramps, updated restrooms, widened aisles, and adjusted pews. In addition, new lighting and a modern sound system would enrich worship, while a fully accessible confessional will reflect the parish’s belief in the healing power of reconciliation.

Worship Space Renovations

St. Mary’s also identified campaign opportunities to beautify their worship space to better reflect Catholic tradition. Their plans include updating the sanctuary and sacred furnishings, improving the altar area, and arranging devotional elements to inspire reverence and devotion. The nave and entrance areas plans would refresh them to create a more welcoming, accessible, and uplifting environment for all who gather for worship.

Campaign Success

We at Walsh & Associates feel truly blessed to have walked alongside St. Mary’s parishioners as they embraced their vision. Their faith, generosity, and dedication exceeded their campaign goal, making it possible for them to enhance the beauty, accessibility, and sacredness of their worship space. Witnessing this community embrace renewal with such hope and joy has been an inspiring reminder of the power of shared vision and prayerful commitment to God’s work.
