Campaign Purpose
Fr. Joe Steinbauer assembled a Strategic Planning Team made up of leaders from the three parishes of Sandusky to discuss the future of the Sandusky Catholic Community. Following this, over one hundred Sandusky Catholics participated in a process to create a vision for the future. That vision included a focus and list of priorities that allowed the parishes to leverage their resources while at the same time maintaining three separate parish identities and associated facilities. These priorities included addressing deferred and future maintenance projects at all of the three parishes’ facilities.
Saints Peter & Paul’s beautiful church building was in need of improvements and repairs to address maintenance, repairs and technology upgrades to better meet the ministerial needs of a 21st century Catholic community. The church also needed to support the capital needs of Sandusky Central Catholic School and fortify their Capital & Future Projects Fund to continue their parish’s legacy for the next 150 years. Foremost among the church’s needs was protecting their historic church building to preserve its beauty for future generations.
As the members joyfully approached Saints Peter and Paul Church’s 150th Anniversary, they developed a plan to address their need to preserve their church’s rich and vibrant tradition and heritage. The funds so generously raised in the Preserving Our Past – Providing for Our Future campaign will be used to renovate, repair, and maintain current buildings, support the Sandusky Central Catholic School, and increase Saints Peter & Paul’s Capital & Future Project Fund. All toward ensuring their parish’s viability for future generations.
