St. Paul’s Lutheran Church & School
Capital Campaign for Expansion & Maintenance
Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future Campaign
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church & School in Perham, Minnesota, has been a beacon of faith and education for generations. Established in 1875, with its school following in 1910, the church has long provided a strong, faith-filled foundation for area families. Grounded in Lutheran tradition and the truth of God’s Word, the congregation continues to nurture lives through Christ-centered worship, education, and service. While the iconic steeple remains a symbol of their deep roots and ongoing ministry, the church recently faced the challenge of preparing its facilities to meet today’s needs—and those of generations to come.
As the congregation looks forward to celebrating its 150th Anniversary, they launched the Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future campaign—a bold step to both celebrate their heritage and invest in future ministry. To ensure they continue delivering quality, Lutheran faith-based education, they recognized the need for modernized and expanded school facilities.
After careful evaluation and consultation, St. Paul’s chose to construct a new school addition rather than continue with costly repairs. This new addition will feature updated classrooms and breakout spaces, a dedicated music room to enrich worship, a secure entryway, an improved administrative area, and a new fire sprinkler system. Renovations will also improve their gym, hallways, and classrooms, especially tailored to kindergarten and first grade needs.
“A new school addition will drastically improve our school facility. With it, St. Paul’s will be able to continue to improve the quality, Christian education that we’ve been providing to the Perham community for the past 114 years.”
To complement the building improvements, parking lot enhancements were also prioritized—addressing both safety and accessibility. The church’s and school’s upgraded and expanded parking will provide more parking and improve traffic flow during school drop-off and busy worship services.
With the help of Walsh & Associates, this was the church’s third successful capital campaign. Thanks to generous pledges and community support, the Honoring Our Past, Building Our Future campaign has positioned St. Paul’s to thrive for another 150 years—proclaiming Christ, serving their neighbor, and educating the next generation in faith.
