St. Martin’s Lutheran Church & School

Campaign Purpose
St. Martin’s School was thriving in almost every aspect, and enrollment was expected to grow by 50% over the next five years. Anticipating this, the church had already built a new school in a Phase I project. The beautiful new school, however, was incomplete and limited in many ways because it did not have a gymnasium. Not having a school gym frustrated staff and students as did the church and school’s lack of a spacious, functional, and flexible gathering space to serve school lunches and host church and community events.
Building a Gym
After asking Walsh to conduct a feasibility and planning study, St. Martin’s was able to refine their plans before embarking on their Continuing the Mission capital campaign. Their plans start with a building with two gyms, locker rooms, and a concession area. This new facility would provide a venue for practice, games, and tournaments with the potential to provide revenue and present St. Martin’s as a welcoming place to belong.
Building A Fellowship Hall & Connected Entrance
St. Martin’s ambitious plans don’t stop with the gym. Their future vision includes a spacious new fellowship hall adjacent to the new gym. It will provide an ideal, and much needed, large gathering space. Further plans include a prominent new entrance to connect their church and school with a safe, indoor, accessible entry point.
Campaign Success
The Continuing the Mission campaign laid a strong foundation for St. Martins. It united the parish and their surrounding community around a shared vision for growth, connection, and service. With hope and determination, they continue to move toward realizing their dream: a campus where faith, learning, and play come together under one roof.

Testimonials
“I was part of the leadership team for a previous campaign with a different firm. This one was so much better. Our Walsh director was accessible, organized, and was an encourager and motivator.”
– Ruth Badciong, Communications Director
“Working in the church office, I appreciated that none of the printing and prepping of brochures, mailings, etc, fell on me. Everything was handled. Walsh was very easy to work with and responsive.”
– Melissa Denzer, Church Secretary
“It was great working with Walsh & Associates! Our director was organized, available, and helpful… I always felt he was there with us every step of the way”
– Diane Holmay, Hospitality Chair

Helping Churches Reach New Heights in their Capital Campaigns
Our mission is to be great stewards, to live up to the Parable of Talents and to bring out the best in those we serve. Our consistent and proven-to-be-successful approach to directing church capital campaigns helps assure this. We just work with churches, only do capital campaigns and ground them in prayer, scripture and sound stewardship teachings. Then we combine this with practical, proven-to-be-most-productive operating methods. This not only assures you of getting the best results and best return on your capital campaign investment financially, but also, that your church will grow spiritually and in community and will be more equipped and excited than ever about doing God’s will through the works of your church.
