Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church
Campaign Purpose
The Duluth Diocese combined Our Lady of Lourdes, St. Alice, and St. Christopher into one Our Lady of the Lakes Parish. In coordination with the Diocesan Plan, the Bishop, and the three churchs’ leaders, many options were explored as to how one priest could best serve the new parish’s worship, education, and fellowship needs. It was determined to build a new church to serve the southern half of the parish. Updating the Pine River church facilities would allow it to continue to serve the parish’s northern half. Walsh & Associates worked with the parish leadership to conduct a Feasibility & Planning study. They then directed the One Faith, One Family, One Future capital campaign. Despite the difficulty of transitioning from three beloved parish facilities to two, the community rallied in support of the plan. They exceeded their goal and raised 4.28 times annual giving.
