St Timothy’s Lutheran Church

St. Timothy's <br> Lutheran Church

Campaign Purpose

St. Timothy’s sanctuary, built in 2000, has provided their faith community with needed worship space and allowed their ministries to flourish. However, it had a sizeable, continuing annual principal and interest payments on their loan balance of just under $1,000,000. They had made hard decisions for 20 years to manage this debt but it was increasingly burdensome, held them back from growth, and had even forced them to take such drastic steps as cutting programs and staff. In addition, this new sanctuary was already over twenty years old. They also continued to use their original 1952 building.

These facilities were worn, showing their age, and needed improvements and repairs. With the help of Walsh & Associates, St. Timothy’s conducted a Fundraising Feasibility and Planning Study to understand the support they would have for plans to address these problems.

Using the information gathered from their feasibility study, St. Timothy’s, in partnership with Walsh & Associates, embarked on their St Timothy’s Taking Care campaign. The funds raised would enable them to repair and replace their parking lot, make improvements to their basement, and reduce their existing debt. St. Timothy’s generous faith community responded to their plans by exceeding their goal.

Testimonials

“When I first accepted a cabinet position for the campaign, I was uncertain if we really needed assistance on our capital campaign. However, I was wrong. Your product is extremely strategic and detailed. Walsh has clearly thought through the entire process and been through this so many times. The expetise your firm and your campaign director brought was needed. St. Timothy’s would not have been even half as successful as we were without it.”
– Steven & Ashlee Schlange, Youth & Children’s Gifts Chairpersons

“I believe the campaign services and processes provided by Walsh & Associates were instrumental in the successful outcome of our campaign. Additionally, we were able to exceed our campaign goal with the help & expertise of our campaign director.”
– Devon Fischer, Advanced Gifts Chair

“Walsh does a wonderful job! Our director is very knowledgeable, organized, and obviously enjoys the work she does. She was very fun to work with.”
– Mark & Jody Ekstrom, Prayer Team Chairs
