Campaign Purpose

Follow Jesus. Change the World.

For 92 years Webster Hills United Methodist Church has been striving to serve this mission in the greater St. Louis community. Their stone church building stood as a strong foundation supporting their worship, education, service, and ministry work. Yet, despite its solid appearance, church leadership added up that they had spent more on emergency repairs to the building over the past three years than they had in over ten years.

After hiring Walsh to conduct a feasibility & planning study, they continued forward to their Faith In Our Future campaign to address critical church facility maintenance, renovation, and debt.

Maintenance & Renovation

The church facilities required repairs and maintenance across its campus. The campaign called on the church membership to recognize their stewardship responsibilities for the blessings and resources of their facilities. Their Christian Life Center, church building, and education and preschool facility needed interior and exterior maintenance and renovation including: HVAC, AV, security cameras, doors, walls, flooring, lighting, fencing and parking lot.

Debt

The church’s $140,000 debt had been incurred to install new boilers. The annual payment on the debt principal and interest was significant and could be more appropriately used for programs, services, and ministries.

Campaign Success

Webster Hills’ Faith in Our Future campaign educated and motivated its members. Understanding the needs, and generously supporting the plans resulted in the $1million Challenge Goal being exceeded. The funds raised will enable them to complete all their planned improvements. In particular, improving their education and preschool facility should help to attract more people to these programs and their church.

Testimonials

“Walsh & Associates led us through a Planning Study prior to beginning a fundraising campaign. They provided great resources and information that helped us make an informed decision to move forward with raising the funds necessary to complete several deferred maintenance projects.”
~ Rev. Jason Bryles, Webster Groves, Missouri

“This has been such an incredible experience. As of today, we are already over $1M. We have reached our challenge goal and fully expect to hit our Ultimate Goal and beyond. We could not have accomplished this without Walsh’s commitment to our church and campaign.”
